We are preparing a proposal for Topic 1 and are looking for partners who have practical expertise in, and infrastructure for, plant cultivation. In particular, we are interested in end users, such as greenhouse operators or farms, as well as research institutions, who already make extensive use of sensors, and are willing to test and validate data-driven innovations in real-world settings.
We are also seeking research institutions and technology providers with experience in plant science, agronomy, and digital agriculture, as well as organizations specializing in farm data management.
Ideal partners will contribute to the co-development and evaluation of a novel, AI-based approach to cross-site, privacy-preserving model training and decision support, and help us implement use cases such as precision crop management, pest and disease detection, and benchmarking of sustainable farming practices.
At Fraunhofer IMS, we specialize in cutting-edge research and development, focusing on high-performance sensors and AI. Our goal is to apply this expertise to the agri-food sector at every stage, from farm to fork.
We have successfully secured funding for a GEH project in the 2nd call (FarmScan), in which we will enable remote field analysis via biodegradable soil sensors and provide farmers with AI-based decision support.
