Topic 1 - Data technologies and data management
Cooperation roles
Willing to join consortia as a partner, task leader, or work package leader in AI, data, and digital agriculture components.
I am open to collaborating with universities, research institutes, SMEs, agtech companies, and public authorities who are working on smart farming and sustainable agrifood systems.
Thematic cooperation interests
Development and testing of AI-based decision-support tools for crop, livestock, and water management using multi‑source data (field, remote sensing, IoT, and administrative).
We are designing and validating digital twins and simulation models for climate-smart farming, yield and quality prediction, and risk management in supply chains.
Interoperable agricultural data platforms and data spaces enabling secure data sharing between farmers, advisory services, and policymakers.
Application and impact focus
TAGEM is conducting large-scale piloting and demonstrations on its network of research institutes, experimental stations, and regional partners.
We co-create tools with farmers and advisors, and translate project results into national strategies, extension programs, and policy recommendations.
We also contribute to the training, capacity building, and dissemination activities that promote digital skills and AI literacy in agriculture.
Academic partners contributing cutting‑edge AI/ML methods, modelling, and evaluation frameworks.
Practitioner and policy partners enabling real‑world testing, stakeholder engagement, and scaling of successful solutions.
The General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) is the national agricultural research organization of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, serving as the ministry’s central in-house research and innovation body for the agri-food sector. Its mission is to generate high‑quality agricultural research that provides economic, social, and environmental benefits for Türkiye and to support evidence‑based agricultural policies and innovation.
TAGEM coordinates a country‑wide network of around 50 research institutes, including central, regional, and subject‑oriented institutes working on plant production, plant health, animal production and health, aquaculture, soil and water resources, biodiversity, food and feed, and agricultural economics. These institutes employ over two thousand researchers and several thousand technical and support staff and host advanced research infrastructures such as the Turkish National Seed Genebank and specialized training and research centers.
Within this structure, the AI and Digital Agriculture Technologies Research Center focuses on data‑driven and digital innovation, developing and applying artificial intelligence, remote sensing, IoT, and advanced analytics for smart farming, climate‑resilient production, and decision support at the farm and policy levels. The Center collaborates closely with TAGEM’s institutes, universities, and technology companies to co‑develop, pilot, and scale digital solutions that enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience in agriculture, while feeding results into national strategies and extension services.
