Topic 2 - Data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture
CNA can participate in the identification of relevant existing databases, including: current practices, annual crop management, pedo-climatic context, yield, satellite data, CSA/RTS , and plant health data.
Additionally, CNA, thanks to its farmer network, can assist in the test and implementation of a DSS. It will be powered by reference acquisition tools usable by farmers, to help them manage their system and evaluate agro-environmental impacts (including biodiversity monitoring).
Indeed, CNA supports the deployment of low-cost and easy to use tools to foster their appropriation. CNA can also identify with end users their needs for DSS’s.
National Center for Agroecology (CNA) works within European projects in partnership with its network of farmers and experts, focusing on setting up on-farm trials, workshops, and focus groups.
CNA’s objective is to massify agroecology, by farmers and for farmers. One of its leverage points is to empower farmers with user-friendly relevant digital tools.
CNA also participates in the broad dissemination of knowledge especially focused on farmers and advisors among other stakeholders, always incorporating the dimension of agroecology/regenerative agriculture.
CNA serves as a vital link with "end-users"—the farmers—, a role often required in calls for proposals. This connection is essential for better farmer engagement, effective knowledge dissemination, and connecting farmers with other R&D actors, particularly students and researchers.
