Topic 2 - Data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture
We are seeking to establish an international research consortium for the AGROVOLTA-AI project under the AGDATA Joint Call. We are interested in collaborating with universities, research institutes, and applied research organizations that can contribute expertise in agrivoltaic systems, AI-based optimization, photovoltaic energy modelling, crop–climate interactions, water management, and data-driven decision-support systems.
Potential partners may participate in pilot field experimentation, AI model development, digital twin implementation, data analysis, sustainability assessment, remote sensing applications, and dissemination activities. Our objective is to jointly develop scalable, science-based, and climate-resilient solutions that integrate agriculture and renewable energy systems.
Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University is a public higher education and research institution in Türkiye with strong expertise in engineering, artificial intelligence, energy systems, and sustainable agricultural technologies. The university actively conducts national and international R&D projects focusing on data-driven modelling, renewable energy integration, and digital innovation for sustainable development.
Within the AGROVOLTA-AI project, the university brings advanced research capacity in artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twin modelling, photovoltaic power forecasting, and IoT-based data integration. The research team has extensive experience in developing hybrid AI models, data analytics pipelines, and decision-support platforms for energy and agricultural applications. In addition, the project team is currently conducting a TÜBİTAK-funded pilot agrivoltaic prototype experiment focused on lettuce (marul) cultivation, which provides hands-on experience in agrivoltaic system design, crop–PV interaction analysis, and real-field data generation.
The institution collaborates closely with agricultural research institutes, public authorities, and international research partners, enabling effective pilot implementation, interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and stakeholder engagement. Through its multidisciplinary expertise and applied research orientation, Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University aims to contribute to innovative, impactful, and practice-oriented solutions that enhance agricultural productivity, renewable energy efficiency, and climate resilience within the AGDATA framework.
