Topic 2 - Data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture
Envira proposes to contribute EO-driven crop monitoring and climate risk intelligence combined with financial risk modelling and credit/insurance expertise to co-develop operational data-based solutions that strengthen farm resilience, inform decision support and enable climate-smart finance and insurance products.
Core cooperation offers
• EO and crop monitoring. Deliver high-resolution, multi-temporal EO analytics (vegetation indices, phenology, crop area and crop-type mapping, yield proxies) and operational pipelines that integrate satellite and proximal sensor data into FMIS other data repositories.
• Hazard monitoring and early warning. Provide operational flood and hail detection and mapping services for field-level exposure assessment, near-real-time alerts for farmers and intermediaries, and post-event severity maps to accelerate response and claims settlement.
• Financial risk and insurance modelling. Develop probabilistic loss-exposure models, crop yield risk models and parametric triggers that combine EO-derived exposure/impact indicators with meteorological/hydrological inputs to quantify economic losses at parcel and farm scale.
• Credit risk and climate-aware lending. Build credit-risk scoring modules that incorporate EO-based productivity and climate-exposure metrics to support banks and fintech lenders in climate-adjusted underwriting and portfolio risk management.
• Integration, APIs and data services. Provide FAIR-compliant data products, validated historical time-series for model training, and production APIs for seamless integration with FMIS, decision-support tools and insurance/credit platforms.
• Pilot / Use Case leadership. Lead or co-lead Use Cases such as (a) parametric insurance for hail/flood, (b) crop-health driven advisory services that reduce inputs and emissions, and (c) EO-enabled credit products that incentivise resilience investments. We could manage end-user validation, insurer/credit partner engagement and operational deployment.
Envira is a climate-fintech and geospatial analytics company that turns earth observation and sensor data into operational risk and decision-support products for agriculture. Our multidisciplinary team of agronomists, remote-sensing engineers, data scientists and financial risk modelers builds end-to-end services: high-frequency EO-based crop and phenology monitoring, field-level flood and hail detection, validated historical time-series for model training, and APIs that integrate directly with FMIS and decision support systems.
On the finance side we design probabilistic crop-loss and yield-risk models, parametric triggers and climate-aware credit scoring modules that enable insurers, lenders and fintechs to underwrite agricultural risk more accurately and to pay claims faster. Our software and data products are deployed in production pipelines, support pilot and commercial use cases with insurers and lenders, and are designed for operational scalability and regulatory compliance.
