Topic 2 - Data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture
BEIA is looking for partners to join consortia focusing on data-driven solutions for sustainable agriculture, building on our experience in precision farming, environmental monitoring and digitalisation of agro-ecosystems.
We are interested in collaborations involving predictive analytics, AI-based decision-support systems, automated irrigation management, early-warning platforms for pests and diseases, crop modelling, soil and water monitoring, digital twins for agriculture and integrated data platforms.
Our expertise is supported by participation in projects such as SIOTIN, ADCATER, SmartAgro, DISAVIT, FarmSustainABL, SA-TERRA, SWAM, RRREMAKER, FoodFriend, IPSUS, Chef2Plate, NGI-UAV-AGRO, SMARTCHAIN, CarbaDetect, iPREMAS, U-GARDEN, Blue-GreenWay, WaterGrid, uBlueTec, TelMonAer, SmartSense, SeaForest, SIMCA, as well as numerous pilots in precision agriculture, viticulture, horticulture and environmental monitoring across Romania, Austria and Belgium.
Furthermore, BEIA has strong connections to key stakeholders in agriculture, aquaculture, forestry and environmental management in the Danube/Balkan/Black Sea region: National Research Institutes for Viticulture and Biotechnology in Horticulture, National Phytosanitary Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Environment – Waters and Forests, Ministry of Economy, farmer associations, Bayer Crop Science, municipalities, regional development agencies, agri-tech companies, energy-intensive industries, TSO/DSO, PV/EV stakeholders, recycling companies, research institutes and universities.

predictive models for crop growth and stress detection, frost, drought and disease early-warning systems, evapotranspiration and accumulated degree-day calculations, sensors for soil moisture, nutrients, pH, salinity and temperature, smart irrigation optimisation and water-use efficiency platforms, UAV and satellite-based monitoring for vegetation indices, digital dashboards for precision farming and sustainable land management.
Our data-based solutions extend to biodiversity (plants, birds, bees, livestock, forests, rivers, lakes, seas including Danube/Delta/Black Sea), water monitoring (precipitation, flow, level, groundwater, wells), environmental quality (air, soil, climate indicators), and hydro-energy telemetry.
