Topic 2 - Data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture
We are looking for partners to jointly develop and implement an AgData project on data-driven smart water cycle analysis for climate-resilient agriculture.
We seek cooperation with universities, research institutes and technology providers that have expertise in Earth Observation (Copernicus), hydrology, climate modelling, smart irrigation, drought and frost risk analysis, and decision support systems (DSS).
Our municipality will contribute as a pilot territory, providing real agricultural fields, local data, stakeholder access and field validation (including drone-based validation).
We are interested in partners who can lead or contribute to:
EO data processing and modelling,
Water stress, evapotranspiration and climate risk analytics,
Development of digital decision support tools and platforms,
Scientific validation and policy impact assessment.
We aim to build a balanced consortium combining research excellence, technological capacity and strong field implementation, ensuring high impact and replicability across European rural regions.
Gülnar Municipality is a local public authority located in Mersin Province, Türkiye, responsible for local development, rural services and agricultural support in a predominantly mountainous and rural territory. The district is characterized by high climate sensitivity, limited water resources and agricultural production based on crops such as almonds, grapes, currants and apples, which are highly vulnerable to frost and drought risks.
The municipality has strong experience in working with farmers, cooperatives and local stakeholders, and plays a key role in coordinating agricultural activities, water management practices and climate adaptation actions at local level.
Within the AQUA-ADAPT project, Gülnar Municipality will act as a pilot territory and implementation partner, providing access to real agricultural fields, local data, farmer networks and operational capacity for field validation activities, including drone-supported observations.
The municipality brings strong commitment to climate-resilient agriculture, practical implementation capacity and high motivation to transform scientific and digital solutions into real, usable tools for rural communities.
