Topic 1 - Data technologies and data management
The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) offers to join AgData Call 1 consortia as a research partner contributing to the development, testing and application of advanced data technologies and data management solutions for agriculture. We are particularly interested in Topic 1 activities focused on:
FAIR data principles in agricultural research and practice,
interoperability of heterogeneous datasets (farm, sensor, EO, experimental, machinery, environmental data),
metadata standards, data quality assessment and harmonisation,
secure data sharing, data governance and trusted data spaces,
preparation of AI-ready datasets for agricultural applications.
SUA can contribute with:
Applied agricultural domain knowledge to ensure that data infrastructures reflect real farming needs,
Access to diverse datasets from experimental fields, farms, monitoring systems and agri-environmental research,
Use cases demonstrating practical data workflows (collection, curation, reuse, analytics),
Validation environments for testing data platforms, tools and services under Central European conditions,
Stakeholder engagement with farmers, advisors and public bodies for user-driven data solutions.
We are open to participating as a work package partner, use case provider, or contributor to data governance, interoperability, and impact-oriented tasks.
The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) is the leading public university in Slovakia specialised in agriculture, environmental sciences, food systems and rural development. SUA combines scientific research with strong practical orientation and close cooperation with farmers, advisory services, public authorities and agri-food stakeholders. SUA conducts research in digital agriculture, precision farming, agri-environmental monitoring, soil and water protection, climate adaptation, and sustainable production systems. Our teams work with heterogeneous agricultural datasets, decision support tools, GIS/EO-based analyses and field-level data collection.
Through its experimental facilities, regional partnerships and applied research projects, SUA provides real-world environments for testing data technologies, FAIR data workflows, interoperability solutions and user-oriented digital tools. The university actively supports knowledge transfer, training and stakeholder engagement to ensure uptake of data-driven innovations in practice.
